Dear Educators,

This letter is to introduce your Local Professional Development Committee (LPDC) of Foxfire High and Foxfire Intermediate Schools. The members of the committee are:

The purpose of the Local Professional Development Committee (LPDC) is to review and approve activities and applications for renewal of licenses issued by the Ohio Department of Education. All district educators are required to work though the LPDC for renewals.  The committee will meet the first Thursday of every month unless noted on the school calendar.  Each meeting will be held at 7:00 a.m. in room 26. As a staff member you will be given the responsibility to place all necessary documentation into your individual binder. If you have questions about a specific topic you have a liason listed below.  The chairman for this school year is Sarah Huffman any and all concerns can be written or verbally corresponded to her.

The committee is requiring all teachers and administrators that hold a licensure to complete an IPDP and submit it to the Committee for approval no later than Oct. 3, 2012. Even first year teachers that are in the mentor program will be required to complete an IPDP.  However, their IPDP will be completed in regards to the mentorship program. The exceptions are: physical therapists, school social workers, audiologists, speech-language pathologists, school nurses, and occupational therapists.

Included in this packet is your IPDP form along with other important documents that will aid you this school year.

We are currently in our second year and still a work in progress. All meetings are public and posted for you in the office, school calendar, and on the school website (currently under construction) located under the resources tab.

If you have any ideas for professional development or concerns please do not hesitate to come to the meetings or talk to a committee member. We as a committee look forward to working with you this school year.
