The Foxfire Summer Camp is based on providing youth with structured summer time activities in a safe and caring environment. This program is funded by a grant to Foxfire Schools thru Jobs and Family Services. The Foxfire Summer Camp also provides needy families help during the summer by providing childcare outside of their home allowing the parents/guardians to continue household responsibilities. The 8-week program is held Monday thru Thursday from 8:00 a.m. until 2:00 p.m. Space is limited to 40 students which allows for teachers and staff to provide adequate attention to each student. The daily agenda consists of hands on activities that incorporate fun with learning. Educational games, book club, nature programs, field trips, and community service projects are included in the program. Physical fitness and wellness is also incorporated into the program to promote respect, teamwork, and critical thinking. Healthy breakfast, lunch, and snacks are served each day. Limited bus transportation is provided.
